University of Malaya Bright Scholarship 2025 in Malaysia

Applications are now open for the University of Malaya Bright Scholarship 2025. In English, it is known as the University of Malaya (UM) Bright Scholarship. This is a comprehensive scholarship for international students as well as Malaysian citizens to pursue a Doctorate (PhD) degree by research at the University of Malaya. Eligibility Criteria

Age should not exceed 30 years at the time of application.
A qualification with a minimum CGPA of 3.70 (or other recognised equivalent).
Also, Masters by research; or Masters by mixed mode (coursework and thesis) with honours and a minimum CGPA of 3.70/4.00.
IELTS (academic) with a minimum score of 6.5.
TOEFL 73-93.
CEFR B2.

Note: The validity of the English test is 2 years from the test date.

The sponsorship package includes:

Stipend: RM3,500/month for 42 months.
Tuition: Free tuition for 7 semesters.
Note: Insurance, visa, airfare, medical examination and accommodation costs are NOT included.

Completed UMES application form.
Proof of publication (first page only).
Copy of the candidate’s ID card.
Also, copies of academic certificates and transcripts at the baccalaureate level.
Copy of Master’s degree and transcript.
IELTS/TOEFL/CEFR certificate valid for no more than 2 years from the test date.
