Eligibility Criteria

Applicants are all citizens.
Applicants must demonstrate that their university studies would conduct in English.
If the applicant’s previous educational qualifications are not in English, he/she must provide proof of English proficiency.
If the applicant is not a new doctoral student, he can apply for this scholarship if enrolled in a new doctoral program.
The applicant must choose from a list of 8 universities.

Financial Coverage of Hong Kong PhD Fellowship

The scholarship will receive an annual grant of HK$337,200 ( approximately US$43,230 over three years). If the duration of the PhD course is more than 3 years, it will sponsor by the university.
No previous work experience is required.
There are no requirements to apply for the first scholarship.

How to apply for Hong Kong PhD Fellowship?

Applicants must apply separately for the university and this scholarship.
Applicants must first apply for the scholarship.
To apply for the scholarship, applicants must first complete the application through the Hong Kong Doctoral Scholarship Electronic System (HKPFSES).
After submitting the first application, applicants will receive a reference number.
Applicants must apply using the reference number specified on the university application form for the selected universities (2 universities and 2 fields if required).
If applicants forget to provide the HKPFSES reference number, their application will be reviewed regularly and will not be considered for this scholarship.
Each university has different application deadlines, so please complete the initial application to get a reference number before the deadline to meet the university’s deadline.
