Benefits of Confucius Institute Scholarship 2025

The Confucius Institute scholarship includes tuition and living expenses (in university housing, sharing a room with another person), basic health insurance , and the monthly allowance for personal expenses, divided as follows. :

2,500 yuan per month for BTCSOL and Chinese language and sample courses (about $350 per month).
3,000 yuan per month for MTCSOL students (equivalent to $420 per month).

Categories of Confucius Institute Scholarship

Scholarships for studying the Chinese language and culture. There are three kinds.

Eligibility Criteria

The following are the documentation and qualifying conditions for the Confucius Institute Scholarship:

Not a Chinese national and in good health. If you want to study for more than six months, you must demonstrate that you are in excellent physical and mental health in order to get a residency visa in China. For this, you must submit a completed copy of the official Chinese medicine form or a physical examination form from your attending university (not required at the time of application). 2. Applicants must be between the ages of 16 and 35 (extended to 45 for those who indicate that they are working as Chinese teachers at the time of the scholarship application). Applicants for junior scholarships must not be more than 20 years old.
Must have Chinese language skills (written and oral HSK, and sometimes BCT and oral BCT are acceptable). This situation depends on the type of scholarship. Academic Qualification: For the MTCSOL scholarship, a bachelor’s degree and graduate academic record must submit. For BTCSOL scholarships or Chinese language courses, you must prove that you have completed high school. If you do not have these documents in English or Chinese, you must submit a certified translation in one of the two languages.
One letter of recommendation for scholarship applicants who wish to study Chinese or BTCSOL courses, two for MTCSOL scholarship applicants. The letter must sign by an official of the Confucius Institute you are applying for the scholarship. 6. For the MTCSOL scholarship, priority will give to applicants who demonstrate a Chinese language teaching career after completing master’s studies in China.
For one-semester or four-week scholarships, you have not studied in China before.

How to apply for Confucius Institute Scholarship 2025?

To apply for the Confucius Institute Scholarship, please follow the steps below:
